Our bronze sitting mermaid statue is a perfect replica of the original, with great details including the mermaid’s wavy hair, layers of fish scales, slender fingers, and gently raised fishtail, all are lifelike.

This Western character mermaid sculpture was a gift from Carl Jacobsen, the son of Carlsberg’s founder, to the Copenhagen government. One day Jacobson watched the premiere ballet “Daughter of the Sea” at the Royal Theatre, and was so moved that he had the idea to make a bronze statue for the mermaid. He invited the famous sculptor Eriksson at the time, and the ballet actress Ellen Paris as a model of the mermaid, and the two creators also produced a dramatic similarity to the mermaid love.
