Spinario Statue Details:
The marble Spinario statue is life-sized, approximately 1.5 meters tall, and vividly depicts a handsome boy removing a thorn from his foot.
This version differs from the original bronze Fedelino statue; artist Gustav Eberlein sculpted it in marble, further highlighting the innocent purity of the child. He also improved the boy’s face and posture, including the base.
The boy has short, curly hair adorned with grapes. He is naked, sitting sideways on a beautiful vase, with his eyes closed, one hand touching his instep, and the other resting on the side of the vase, as if in pain from the thorn in his foot.
Exquisite Carving Craftsmanship:
To accurately reproduce the appearance of this boy with the thorn statue, YouFine Factory’s artists used A-grade natural white marble for hand-carving. They repeatedly modified the sculpture, comparing it to the original, and polished and refined the details multiple times, resulting in incredibly realistic details such as the boy’s eyes, hair, and wrinkled abdomen.
According to customer requirements, we also improved the vase section, simplifying some of the original decorations to create a more minimalist look that better highlights the boy himself.
